Egyptian Football Legend Hassan El-Shazly Passes Away at 71
Hassan El-Shazly, a true legend of Egyptian and African football, has sadly passed away at the age of 71.
El-Shazly is widely regarded as one of Egypt’s greatest footballing icons. He remains the all-time top scorer in the history of the Egyptian Premier League, having netted an impressive 176 goals during his career at Tersana Sporting Club, where he spent his entire playing life.
An international star, El-Shazly also shone for the Egyptian national team, where he made significant contributions, including being the top scorer in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals, with 13 goals to his name.
His death marks the end of an era for Egyptian football, and his legacy as one of the country’s most celebrated players will undoubtedly live on.
