President of the Egyptian Football Association, Hany Abo Rida lauded the Pharaohs for securing their spot in the FIFA U-20 World Cup under the guidance of coach Osama Nabih.
Speaking to the EFA’s media center, Abo Rida described the qualification as a major achievement, expressing confidence that the team can continue to chase their dream of claiming the continental title if they keep up their determination and fighting spirit.
He praised the Egyptian players for their heroic performance against Ghana in the quarterfinals, highlighting their resilience and ability to overcome tough moments throughout the tournament.
Abo Rida also emphasized the bright future of Egyptian football, noting that this talented generation deserves strong support and recognition.
He was absent from Egypt’s hard fought win against Ghana on Monday as he attended the FIFA General Assembly in Paraguay.
Meanwhile, Egypt will clash with Morocco in the semifinals of the ongoing U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament today at the 30 June Stadium with kick off scheduled at 18:00 GMT.
