Ehab El-Komy, a member of the Egyptian Football Association’s board of directors, shed light on the absence of Hazeem Emam and Mohamed Barakat from the signing ceremony of the coaching contracts with the Hassan twins.
El-Komy clarified that their absence was due to personal reasons and not due to any rejection of the twins’ leadership of the team, as speculated in the media.
Speaking in a televised statement, El-Komy stated, “The press conference was postponed to be held in the administrative capital, a significant landmark, to ensure a successful start.”
He continued, “The postponement of the conference was aimed at promoting the administrative capital for the benefit of the nation and considering the lower financial cost.
The project’s objective is still in the pre-construction phase, so the conference was not held there.”
El-Komy emphasized, “Captain Hazeem Emam and Mohamed Barakat have expressed their full support for the coaching staff led by the Hassan twins, as well as Amer Hussein.”
Further elaborating, he said, “I cannot disclose the details of Hossam Hassan’s contract with the Egyptian national team, as it is the sole right of the coach to announce the financial value of the contract.
The Hassan twins did not discuss any financial details or conditions, and we have given them complete freedom to shape the coaching staff of the national team.”
The clarification from the Egyptian Football Association aims to dispel any misconceptions regarding the absence of Emam and Barakat from the contract signing ceremony and reaffirms the association’s commitment to transparency and professionalism in its operations.
