Egyptian Football Association President Hani Abou Rida explains Nabil Emad Donga’s suspension
Hani Abou Rida, president of the Egyptian Football Association, provided clarity about Nabil Emad Donga’s Super Cup suspension and shed light on Egypt’s upcoming participation in the Arab Cup.
Abou Rida confirmed that Donga’s four-match ban will be enforced in the upcoming Super Cup, clarifying that previous communication had officially informed Zamalek’s management about the decision.
The Super Cup incident, involving Donga and his then-teammate in a confrontation during last season’s semifinal, resulted in heated debate over the process used for imposing the ban. Abou Rida stressed that the sanction stands and will be applied as planned, despite Zamalek’s legal disputes.
Regarding the Arab Cup, Abou Rida highlighted a scheduling conflict with Pyramids FC players who are engaged in league matches at the same time. He shared efforts to resolve these clashes and ensure full national team participation. Looking ahead, Abou Rida emphasized the importance of supporting Egypt’s footballers and improving domestic infrastructures.
