The President of the Egyptian Football Association (EFA), Hani Abu Rida, has dismissed any suggestions of canceling the 2025-2026 league season, emphasizing that the topic has never been under consideration.
In comments to the press, Abu Rida stated that the idea of ending the league prematurely “was not discussed,” adding that no one within the association has raised the matter.
Reinforcing this stance, EFA board member Mustafa Abu Zahra told CBC that there is no intention to halt the competition, offering reassurance to fans and clubs alike.
Earlier reports had speculated about a possible cancellation of the season, but official statements from Abu Rida and Abu Zahra have now clarified the situation.
On the field, Ceramica Cleopatra leads the league with 35 points from 16 matches.
Zamalek and Pyramids are tied for second place on 28 points from 14 matches each, while Al Ahly sits fourth with 27 points from 14 games.
