Egyptian FA reshapes refereeing committees with new technical team
The Egyptian Football Association has taken a decisive step to refresh its refereeing structure, giving Colombian Oscar Ruiz the green light to reorganize the Referees Committee.
Ruiz, the Colombian chief of the Referees Committee, was given the green light to reconstitute the committee and shape a clearer path for referee development.
In the reshuffle, Ruiz left out Azab Hajjaj and Fahim Omar, instead naming Wageeh Ahmed as deputy, with Jihad Grisha, Sayed Murad, and Hiam Baraka joining as members. The changes reflect a bid to inject new energy into the system while keeping experience at the heart of it.
The FA also found new roles for those removed. Azab Hajjaj has been named administrative director, handling executive matters away from the technical side. Meanwhile, Fahim Omar has been placed on a freshly formed technical committee that includes retired referee Mohamed El Hanfy, as well as Mohamed Youssef and Mohamed Reda.
This new technical group will focus on supporting Ruiz by planning referee camps and overseeing preparation, a step the FA believes will strengthen Egyptian officiating for the future.
