The Egyptian Football Association has taken firm steps to put an end to growing concerns over which clubs will represent the nation in next season’s African competitions.
Under the leadership of Hany Abo Rida, the association confirmed that Al Ahly, Pyramids FC, Zamalek SC, and Al Masry SC have officially received their licenses, meeting all Confederation of African Football (CAF) requirements before the August 6 deadline.
In a show of unity, the Egyptian FA expressed its full backing of the clubs’ continental campaigns and highlighted its commitment to CAF regulations.
Earlier, Al Ahly called for clarity over financial obligations tied to club licensing, adding tension to the process.
With the licensing issue resolved, attention shifted to technical staff matters. The FA announced that new staff cards for the 2025–2026 season would only be issued once contracts are submitted and properly documented. Coaches must also present valid training licenses or temporary permits.
To manage last-minute complications, Dr. Mustafa Azzam set up a crisis unit and remained at headquarters as the summer transfer window closed at midnight.
