Hossam El-Badry has carved out a proud chapter in his coaching career by guiding Al-Ahly Tripoli to glory in the Libyan Premier League.
The Egyptian tactician sealed the championship on Tuesday evening as his side overcame Al-Hilal 2-0 in the Hexagonal Cup finale held in Milan, Italy.
This triumph places El-Badry among an elite group of Egyptian coaches who have lifted the Libyan league crown. The late Abdo Saleh Al-Wahsh was the first to do so with Al-Ahly Benghazi, followed by the late Ali Sharaf with Al-Tahadi. Talat Youssef then claimed the title with Al-Ahly Tripoli, before Tariq Al-Ashry’s success with Al-Ahly Benghazi.
For El-Badry, this victory is the latest milestone in a distinguished journey. He previously led Al-Ahly of Egypt to the domestic league title and also captured the Sudanese League with Al-Merreikh. His connection with Al-Ahly Tripoli dates back to the 2012-2013 season, when he first took charge after leaving Cairo’s giants. Now, he returns to deliver the ultimate prize for the Tripoli faithful.
