Hossam El-Badry has guided Al-Ahly Tripoli to the Libyan League crown, capping a remarkable turnaround for the capital club.
The title was sealed with a composed 2-0 win over Al-Hilal on Tuesday evening, sparking wild celebrations across Tripoli.
Sporting director Hady Khashaba could not hide his delight after the final whistle, praising the players and technical staff for their resilience. “I thank the players for their efforts throughout the season, and I also commend the work of the technical staff, led by Hossam El-Badry, who took on the task at a difficult time,” he said.
Khashaba hailed the passionate supporters, saying they “deserved the joy and the title” after a demanding campaign. On the coach’s future, he revealed, “Badry has received offers, and we will soon discuss his future with the club’s management. However, it is premature to discuss this matter, as it depends on the desires of the coach and the management.”
The champions now prepare for the CAF Champions League, where they will meet Benin’s Dajji in September.
