Egyptian clubs association: Belgian system just a suggestion, no substitute for exceptional season

The Egyptian Clubs Association has stepped in with fresh changes to the league calendar, aiming to balance continental commitments with local competition.

Supporters will now have to adjust their plans, as some key fixtures have been moved or delayed.

The Egyptian Football Association confirmed on Friday that two Pyramids matches will not be played as earlier scheduled, due to the club’s involvement in the first preliminary round of the CAF Champions League. The Pyramids clash with Ismailia Electricity in the eighth round will now take place on December 3 instead of October 1. Their meeting with Petrojet in the tenth round has also been pushed to December 6, replacing the original October 5 date.

Zamalek’s upcoming fourth-round fixture against FC Pharco, set for Tuesday, has been switched from the Suez Canal Authority Stadium in Ismailia to Al-Salam Stadium. An informed source explained this move was made for security reasons.

Other changes affect Al-Masry, Ismailia Electricity, and Al Ahly, with venues shifted to Borg El Arab and the Military College Stadium to ease logistics and ensure smooth competition.
