Egyptian centre-back Youssef Mahmoud joins El Dakhlia from El Makasa

Egyptian defender Youssef Mahmoud has joined El Dakhlia from El Makasa, completing a move to the club on 2 August 2026. The 25-year-old centre-back has signed a contract that runs until 30 June 2028.

Mahmoud moves to El Dakhlia after returning to El Makasa from a loan spell at Aswan SC. He joined Aswan on 20 January 2026 and spent the second half of the 2025-26 season there before the loan ended on 30 June.

The switch brings Mahmoud back into Egypt’s domestic club system with a new two-year deal in place. He joins El Dakhlia as a central defender, having established his recent career through a series of moves between Egyptian clubs.

Before his time at Aswan and El Makasa, Mahmoud played for Suez SC. He joined Suez from El Sekka SC on 16 September 2023, with that transfer also recorded as a free move. He later left Suez for El Makasa on 22 January 2025, again without a transfer fee being recorded.

Mahmoud’s earlier career included a spell with Pioneers before his move to El Sekka in January 2023. His change of club from El Makasa to El Dakhlia is the latest step in a sequence of transfers within Egyptian football since that move.

The defender’s arrival gives El Dakhlia a new centre-back for the 2026-27 season, while Mahmoud begins the next stage of his career under a contract lasting until the summer of 2028.
