Egypt’s hopes for the upcoming FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile received a boost as coach Osama Nabih unveiled a 30-man preliminary squad filled with both local talent and promising names from Europe.
The standout feature of the list is the inclusion of three Bundesliga midfielders: Mainz’s Thibaut Gabriel, Hamburg’s Omar Abdulmajeed, and Hertha Berlin’s Selim Talab. Their call-up has raised excitement among fans eager to see how they will blend with Egypt’s home-based stars.
The squad also features Aarau winger Amr Khaled, Aston Villa’s Omar Khedr, and Radwan Hamzaoui from French side Auxerre. Goalkeeping duties will be contested by Abdel Moneim Tamer, Ahmed Wahb, Ahmed Manshawy, and Hazem Gamal.
Defensive options include Ahmed Abdeen, Moaz Attia, Mohamed Samir, Mahab Sami, and Moataz Mohamed. Midfield depth is provided by Yassin Atef, Mohamed Abdullah, Seif Safaga, and others alongside the Bundesliga trio.
In attack, Amr Khaled will be joined by Ahmed Sharaf, Adham Karim, and Ayman Amir. Egypt begin preparations with optimism, aiming to make an impression when the World Cup kicks off on September 27.
