Egypt’s preparations for the 2025 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) are officially underway, with head coach Ahmed El Kass and his squad set to commence their training camp on Thursday, March 13.
Training Camp Underway
The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) confirmed the start of the camp in an official statement, announcing that El Kass will work with a 29-player squad as the team intensifies its preparations for the tournament.
The young Pharaohs will aim to fine-tune their tactics and build cohesion ahead of their opening match.
Egypt secured qualification for the U-17 AFCON, which will take place in Morocco from March 31 to April 19, and the training camp is expected to serve as a crucial phase in their build-up to the competition.
Group Stage Fixtures
Placed in a challenging group, Egypt will begin their campaign against South Africa before facing Burkina Faso and Cameroon in the group stage. Their fixtures are as follows:
- March 31: South Africa vs. Egypt
- April 3: Egypt vs. Burkina Faso
- April 6: Cameroon vs. Egypt
El Kass will look to guide his team through the group stages and mount a strong challenge in the tournament as Egypt seeks continental glory at the youth level.
