Egypt to welcome 40,000 fans for Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola

Egypt will begin their Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifying campaign against Angola on 25 September, with 40,000 supporters authorised to attend at the Stade du Caire.

The Pharaohs will be aiming to take early control of Group A when they face Angola in their opening group-stage fixture on Friday.

Egyptian authorities have approved a capacity crowd for the match, allowing home supporters to provide a strong atmosphere for the national team. The opening of ticket sales is expected to help create a fervent red backdrop for Angola’s visit.

The fixture marks the start of a demanding international window for the seven-time African champions, who will return to qualifying action four days later.

Egypt will travel on 29 September to face South Sudan in their second match of the campaign.
