The Egyptian Football Association has reached a consensus to part ways with the first team coach, Rui Vitoria, following their elimination from the Total Energies 2023 African Cup of Nations.
The decision, as reported by the “yallakora” website, stems from an agreement among association members, marking the end of Vitoria’s tenure after the team failed to secure a spot in the last eight of the prestigious tournament.
The culmination of this decision came after the Egyptian national team’s exit from the African Cup of Nations on Sunday.
In a dramatic match against the DR Congo, the team bid farewell in a penalty shootout that ended 8-7 at the Stade Laurent Pokou in San Pedro.
The game had earlier concluded in regular and extra time with a 1-1 score.
