Trezeguet suffers injury setback

Egypt international Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet has suffered an injury while featuring for Al-Riyadh in their Saudi Pro League clash against Al-Khaleej.

The Egyptian winger started the match as Al-Riyadh faced Al-Khaleej in the sixth round of the Roshn Saudi League, but his involvement was cut short after just 11 minutes.

Trezeguet sustained the injury following a collision with an Al-Khaleej player and was subsequently forced to leave the pitch without being able to continue.

The nature and severity of the injury are yet to be confirmed, with further medical assessment expected to determine the extent of the problem.

The setback comes at a particularly worrying time for Egypt, with Trezeguet expected to be included in the Pharaohs’ squad for their September international camp.

Egypt are scheduled to face Angola and South Sudan during the upcoming international window, and the injury could potentially put the experienced attacker’s availability for the two matches in doubt.

Trezeguet remains an important member of the Egyptian national team setup, and the Pharaohs will be hoping that the injury is not serious enough to keep him out of the forthcoming fixtures.
