Egypt striker Samir Mohamed returns to Petrojet after Al Ahly spell
Egyptian centre-forward Samir Mohamed has joined Petrojet from Al Ahly, returning to the club after spending the 2025-26 season there on loan.
The 22-year-old has signed a contract with Petrojet running until 30 June 2029. Mohamed, who was born in Tanta and stands 1.87m tall, is a right-footed forward whose senior career has so far been centred on Egyptian football.
Mohamed spent the recent campaign with Petrojet, appearing in the Egyptian Premier League, the relegation play-off, the Egyptian League Cup and the CAF Champions League. He made 14 league appearances, nine in the relegation play-off and six in the League Cup, while also featuring once in the continental competition. His recorded League Cup contribution included one assist.
His return follows a season-long loan move from Al Ahly to Petrojet on 3 August 2025. That spell ended on 30 June 2026, when he returned to Al Ahly, before completing his move back to Petrojet on 15 August.
Mohamed joined Al Ahly’s senior side from the club’s under-21 team in September 2024, having progressed through its youth system. He had previously moved from Al Ahly Under-19s to the Under-21 side in July 2022, after joining the club’s youth set-up in 2020.
The forward’s club career includes an Egyptian championship achievement with Al Ahly in the 2024-25 season. He now returns to Petrojet with a contract extending through the 2028-29 season, completing his move from Al Ahly on 15 August 2026.
