Egypt striker Mostafa Mohamed joins Konyaspor on three-year deal

Egypt international Mostafa Mohamed has joined Turkish side Konyaspor on a three-year contract, following his departure from French club Nantes.

The 28-year-old striker was officially unveiled by Konyaspor on Tuesday after completing his move to Turkey, where he will wear the number 42 shirt.

His arrival means Mostafa Mohamed will now play in the same league as fellow Egypt international Mohamed Salah, who moved to Trabzonspor during the summer transfer window.

The Turkish club held the contract signing ceremony at the Konyaspor Museum inside their stadium, with football director Ali Camgoz present.

Konyaspor also welcomed their new striker with a video posted on their X account, featuring Mostafa Mohamed performing his trademark bow-and-arrow celebration associated with former club Zamalek.

The club wished the Egyptian forward success as he begins his latest chapter in Turkey.

Second spell in Turkish football

Mostafa Mohamed already has experience of the Turkish Super Lig, having previously represented Galatasaray in 2021.

His return comes after a difficult spell at Nantes, which ended following a major dispute between the player and the French club.

The move to Konyaspor gives the Egypt international an opportunity to rebuild his career in a league he already knows.

From Egypt to Europe

Mostafa Mohamed began his professional career with Egyptian club El Dakhleya before moving through Zamalek, Tanta and Tala’ea El Gaish.

He later had spells with Galatasaray and Nantes as he continued his career outside Egypt.

Now at Konyaspor, he will hope to rediscover his best form while joining Salah as one of the prominent Egyptian players competing in the Turkish league.
