Egypt international Mohammed Salah has named Darwin Nunez as his favourite teammate at Liverpool.
Nunez joined Liverpool in 2022 from Benfica and has since racked up 36 goals in 114 appearances for the club.
According to Salah, Brazil international Roberto Firmino was his favourite Liverpool teammate until the arrival of Nunez.
He told a fan Q&A: “Who do I most like to play with? It was [Roberto] Firmino. Now I feel like I generally like playing with Nunez.
“A lot of people don’t like him but I like playing with him. I see Bahaa (the man who asked the question) keeps shaking his head not liking [Nunez].
“Nah, I like playing with him in general. [Nunez is] a player with different skills. Not a lot of people understand his ball.”
Nunez has faced competition for a regular role under Arne Slot this season, starting only nine games across the Premier League and Champions League. He’s managed three goals and two assists in all competitions.
Meanwhile, Salah has been Liverpool’s main man this season, contributing 21 goals for the club.
