Liverpool icon Mohamed Salah has penned a heartfelt farewell to Harvey Elliott following his move to Aston Villa in the just ended summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old midfielder recently completed a season-long loan move to Aston Villa in an attempt to secure regular playing time at the club.

However, Salah has taken to social media to eulogize the promising England midfielder.

“You’ll be remembered for your loyalty and dedication every time you were called upon. You leave as a champion, and I’ve got no doubt you’ll do big things at your new club. They are lucky to have you,” Salah wrote.

Elliott heads to Birmingham with plenty of promise and a point to prove. His loan agreement includes an option for Aston Villa to make the move permanent—should he meet certain appearance benchmarks over the course of the season.

Valued at €30 million, Elliott made 29 appearances for Liverpool last season, contributing five goals and three assists. Villa fans will be hoping the young midfielder brings that spark to Villa Park as he looks to carve out a regular Premier League starting role.
