Egypt star Mohamed Salah nominated for Turkish Super Lig Goal of the Month award
Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah has continued to make his mark in Turkey despite playing only a handful of matches for Trabzonspor at the start of the new season.
The experienced forward has already scored three goals for Trabzonspor in the Turkish Super Lig, including a brace against Istanbul Basaksehir and another goal against Amedspor.
Salah’s impressive start has now earned him another opportunity to compete for individual recognition after his stunning strike against Istanbul Basaksehir was nominated for the Turkish Super Lig’s Goal of the Month award for August.
The Turkish league announced the shortlist through its official account on X, with Salah’s effort going up against goals scored by Diaa Saba of Amedspor and Adama Traore of Genclerbirligi.
The nomination adds to Salah’s growing list of individual achievements since his arrival in Turkey. He had already picked up his first award in the Turkish league after his spectacular goal against Istanbul Basaksehir was voted the Goal of the Round for the second matchday.
Salah’s brace against Basaksehir was particularly significant as he continues to settle into life at Trabzonspor and adapt to the demands of Turkish football.
The Egyptian’s goals have provided an important boost to Trabzonspor, although the club has endured an inconsistent start to the campaign.
Trabzonspor currently sit 11th in the Turkish Super Lig with four points from their opening matches, having recorded one victory and one draw while also suffering a defeat in the most recent round.
Despite the team’s position in the standings, Salah has quickly emerged as one of the players attracting the most attention in the league.
His latest nomination underlines his continued influence and ability to produce spectacular moments, even at the beginning of his Turkish adventure.
Salah will now hope his goal against Istanbul Basaksehir can receive enough votes to claim another individual honour and add the Turkish Super Lig Goal of the Month award to his Goal of the Round recognition.
