Egypt star Mohamed Salah chasing Trabzonspor record after stunning start to season

Mohamed Salah is already making a strong impression at Trabzonspor and could soon write his name into the club’s history books if he maintains his impressive start to the season.

The Egyptian winger has made an explosive beginning to life at the Turkish club, most recently producing a sensational hat-trick as Trabzonspor cruised to a 4-0 victory over Galatasaray.

Salah’s remarkable performance has taken his tally to seven goals in his first eight appearances, while he has also provided two assists, giving him nine direct goal contributions since joining the club.

His goalscoring form has also seen him rise to the top of the Turkish Super Lig scoring charts with seven goals, underlining his immediate impact in Turkey.

According to reports from Turkey, Salah has already entered the conversation surrounding Trabzonspor’s most productive wingers of the past decade and could eventually challenge the club’s record for goal contributions in that position.

Nigerian forward Anthony Nwakaeme currently leads the ranking after an outstanding six-season spell with Trabzonspor between 2018 and 2024.

Nwakaeme directly contributed to 94 goals during his time at the club, scoring 51 goals and providing 43 assists.

Egyptian winger Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet also occupies a prominent position on the list following his productive spell with Trabzonspor.

Trezeguet directly contributed to 35 goals during his two seasons at the club. He recorded 19 goal contributions in the 2022/23 campaign, scoring 13 goals and providing six assists.

He followed that with another 16 goal contributions in the 2023/24 season, scoring 11 times and registering five assists.

Salah’s current numbers put him on nine goal contributions after just eight matches, meaning he has already made an impressive start to his bid to establish himself among Trabzonspor’s most productive wide players.

The Egyptian star will now be looking to maintain his remarkable form as the season progresses, with his latest hat-trick against Galatasaray providing further evidence of his influence in the Trabzonspor attack.

If Salah continues producing at his current rate, he could rapidly climb the club’s historical rankings and potentially challenge the remarkable numbers established by Nwakaeme.
