Egypt resume training at Cairo Stadium ahead of South Africa clash

Egypt will resume training on Thursday as preparations continue for their Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifying campaign.

The team will hold a session at Cairo Stadium at 21:00 local time, after the coaching staff gave the players Wednesday off following their return to Cairo.

Egypt travelled back from South Sudan after securing a 5-0 victory in their second Group qualifying match.

South Africa will visit Egypt on Sunday, with kick-off scheduled for 21:00 at Cairo International Stadium.

The emphatic win over South Sudan produced several notable figures for Egypt. The Pharaohs’ five goals were scored by Omar Marmoush, who netted twice, while Mostafa Abdel Raouf “Zico”, Ibrahim Adel and Hamza Abdelkarim each scored once.

The result lifted Egypt to four points in the group.
