Hossam Hassan, the newly appointed head coach, has finalized the lineup for the Egypt national team, as disclosed to the members of the Football Association during a meeting held earlier today, Tuesday.
The decision comes in the wake of the dismissal of Portuguese coach Rui Vitória by the Football Association following Egypt’s elimination from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations at the round of 16 stage, courtesy of a defeat to the Democratic Republic of Congo.
According to a source speaking to “Al-Masry Al-Youm,” Hossam Hassan has requested the inclusion of Tarek Soliman as the assistant coach, Ahmed Al-Kas as the coach, and Saifan Al-Sagheer as the goalkeeper coach, alongside Ibrahim Hassan as the team’s manager.
Furthermore, the source stated, “Hossam Hassan has requested the appointment of Ahmed Al-Kas as a coach in the technical staff, replacing Mohamed Youssef.”
Currently, the Football Association is deliberating on negotiating with Mohamed Youssef to lead the 2008 national team instead of Ahmed Al-Kas.
The unveiling of the new coaching staff reflects a strategic shift in the management of the Egyptian national team, as it seeks to revitalize its approach and performance on the international stage.
With Hossam Hassan at the helm, there are high expectations for the team to embark on a new era of success, driven by tactical acumen and cohesive teamwork.
As Egypt looks to rebuild and strengthen its footballing infrastructure, the appointment of Hossam Hassan and his selected coaching staff signals a fresh chapter in the nation’s footballing journey, with hopes pinned on their ability to steer the team to greater achievements in the future.
