A source within the Egyptian Football Association has revealed the imminent arrival date of Brazilian strength coach Manuel Barionovo to join the coaching staff of Egypt’s national team led by manager Hossam Hassan.
The Egyptian team is gearing up for a friendly tournament set to take place in the United Arab Emirates in March, featuring the participation of New Zealand, Tunisia, and Croatia.
The first friendly match is scheduled for March 22nd against New Zealand, followed by another match on March 25th, with the final match taking place the following day.
Speaking exclusively to Yalla Kora, the source stated, “Barionovo, the strength coach in Egypt’s coaching staff, will arrive in Cairo within days to commence preparations for the ongoing March camp.”
Barionovo previously worked with the Hassan twins, Hossam and Ibrahim, as part of the coaching staff for Jordan’s national team in 2013.
It’s noteworthy that Hossam Hassan recently took over as the head coach of Egypt’s national team, succeeding Portuguese manager Roy Vitoria, who departed following the team’s early exit from the Africa Cup of Nations (Ivory Coast 2023).
