How Has the Egyptian National Team Prepared for the Africa Cup of Nations?
The national team held its preparation camp in the new administrative capital since last Tuesday until this Tuesday, marking the departure of the team to Ivory Coast.
The team played a friendly match against Tanzania on Sunday at Cairo International Stadium, concluding with a 2-0 victory for the Pharaohs.
This match served as the final test before traveling to Ivory Coast for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Rui Vitoria on the Tanzania Friendly
Rui Vitoria, the coach of the Egyptian national team, affirmed that the friendly match against Tanzania concluded without any injuries.
He clarified that Omar Kamal Abdulwahid sustained a minor injury that is not a cause for concern.
Vitoria stated that Tanzania’s style of play resembles Mozambique, the team Egypt will face in the opening match of the Africa Cup of Nations, focusing on defensive consolidation and counter-attacks.
Ahmed El-Shennawy and Mohamed El-Shennawy are both ready to travel to Ivory Coast, according to Vitoria.
Vitoria mentioned that Mohamed Hani was absent from the match due to his expulsion in the friendly against Algeria, and regulations prevent him from participating in the first international match, leading to his exclusion from the squad.
