Dr. Mohamed Abou El Ala, the physician for the Egyptian national team, organized a comprehensive anti-doping session for the players during the team’s training camp in the new administrative capital.
The session, held in the presence of Dr. Mohy El Din El Gaafary, a doping control consultant accredited by the International Olympic Committee, aimed to familiarize the players with the latest prohibited substances and medical regulations in preparation for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations 2024, set to kick off on January 13 in Ivory Coast.
The informative session covered newly prohibited medications, outlining the scheduled doping tests for players and the authority of the medical committee of the African Union to summon any player at any point during the tournament.
It is noteworthy that the Egyptian national team made adjustments to its final roster before the deadline for submitting the list of participating teams in the tournament.
The coaching staff decided to exclude both Ahmed Nabil “Koka” and Osama Jalal, replacing them with the duo Mohannad Lashin and Yasser Ibrahim due to the injuries sustained by the former pair.
