Egypt’s national football team, under the helm of coach Hossam Hassan, has finalized its selection for the upcoming international friendly tournament in the United Arab Emirates.
The decision comes after a careful review that saw the exclusion of five prominent players from the squad.
Coach Hossam Hassan has confirmed the omission of five star players from the national team’s roster for the March camp, ahead of the Emirates tournament.
Among those excluded are Mohamed Elneny of Arsenal, Ahmed Hassan Kouka of Alanyaspor in Turkey, Mohamed Sobhi, the goalkeeper for Zamalek, Mahmoud Abdel-Moneim Kahraba of Al Ahly, and Omar Kamal Abdel-Wahed of Al-Masry.
The team’s composition has been meticulously crafted, with Hassan settling on a final list of 25 players who will represent Egypt during the upcoming fixtures.
In goalkeeping, the trio of Mohamed Awad, Mostafa Shobier, and Ahmed El-Shenawy have been selected, with Mohamed Bassam and Mohamed Abu Jabal vying for a potential fourth spot.
For the defensive lineup, the selected players include Mohamed Abdel-Monem, Mohamed Hani, Ahmed Hegazi, Mohamed Hamdi, Ahmed Karbala, Hossam Abdel-Majeed, and Mohamed Shokry.
In midfield, the squad features Mohamed Salah, Ahmed Sayed Zizo, Hussein El-Shahat, Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet, Emam Ashour, Nabil Emad Dunga, Hamdi Fathi, Omar Marmoush, Mustafa Fathi, and Marwan Attia, with Omar El-Saied and Ghanam Mohamed in contention for additional spots.
Up front, the attacking force comprises Mustafa Mohamed, Mohamed Sherif, and Hussam Ashraf, with Ahmed Amine Oufa and Ziko also under consideration.
The final selection of 28 players for Egypt’s national team will be officially announced by Coach Hossam Hassan after the conclusion of the Egyptian Cup final between Al Ahly and Zamalek on March 8th.
