Ahmed Hossam Mido, former star of Zamalek Club, expressed his dismay over the images posted by the official page of the Egyptian Football Association on social media regarding the appointment of Hossam Hassan, the new head coach of the Egyptian national team.
Mido said in televised statements: “It is evident that the Football Association should only publish photos of Hossam Hassan with the president of the Football Association or in the presence of the entire board.
In the absence of any member of the board, the reason for the absence must be explained in the same official statement.”
He added: “Amer Hussein, Mohamed Abou Elwafa, Hazem Emam, and Mohamed Barakat were not present in the photos of signing the contracts with Hossam Hassan and Ibrahim Hassan… What message are you trying to convey? In this way, you are indicating that Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan came against the will of Hazem Emam and Mohamed Barakat.”
Mido continued: “One of the basic requirements for the Football Association to appoint a technical director is for this person to have a Pro license, which is the highest in the coaching world.”
He further stated: “The Football Association wanted to appoint Gamal Mohamed Ali as the head coach of the association, but he does not have the Pro license.
Therefore, the Football Association decided to appoint Alaa Nabil, who also does not have the license.”
Mido concluded his remarks by saying: “I respect Alaa Nabil, and he has extensive experience.
I support his presence in the Football Association and his planning for Egyptian football, but he must be protected under someone who holds the license so that the work of the association is accredited.”
