The Egyptian Football Association has lined up a high-profile friendly matches ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup tournament, to be held in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
The Pharaohs, who are currently participating in the AFCON 2025 has been paired in Group G New Zealand, Belgium and Iran following the draw in Washington in early December.
As part of preparation for the tournament, the North Africa giants has agreed to play four friendly matches to equipped themselves for the global showpiece.
As revealed by Hamada El Sherbini, a member of the board of directors of the FA, Egypt will face Saudi Arabia and Spain in March 2026 before finalizing preparations with two crucial friendlies against Brazil and Norway in June.
“We are currently talking about preparations for the World Cup. In March we will face Saudi Arabia and Spain, and in June before the World Cup we will face Brazil and Norway. We are planning for the tournament even before we know what we will achieve in the Africa Cup of Nations.”
The Pharaohs of Egypt will open their World Cup account against European outfit, Belgium and will be seeking for a positive results to cap off an impressive start to the tournament.
Meanwhile, Egypt has qualified for the round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations after topping their group with 7 points.
Egypt will play against the third-placed team from Group D, which includes Senegal, DR Congo, Benin, and Botswana.
