Hassan Hamdi, who served as the president of Al Ahly since 2002, has been dismissed from his position by Egypt’s Sports Minister, Taher Abou-Zeid. The decision was primarily based on Hamdi’s extended tenure at the club, but he is also involved in a financial embezzlement case for the benefit of Al Ahly. As a result, Hamdi and some of his colleagues are required to appear before the courts.
