Continuing their preparations for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire, the Egyptian national team secured a 2-0 victory over Tanzania in a friendly match held at Cairo Stadium.

Egypt is set to depart for Côte d’Ivoire on Tuesday to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet” and a penalty kick converted by Mohamed Salah secured the two goals for Egypt in the friendly match against Tanzania.

Roy Vitoria, the head coach of the Egyptian national team, entrusted Mohamed Sabri with goalkeeping duties for the match.

Egypt initiated several attempts on goal early in the game, with Mohamed Salah delivering a direct shot in the 4th minute, narrowly missing the target.

Tanzanian star, Ali Samata, launched a powerful shot that was blocked by Egypt’s goalkeeper Mohamed Sabri, with the defense clearing the ball for a corner.

Trezeguet managed to score the first goal for Egypt in the 31st minute after receiving an excellent pass from Mohamed Salah, which he confidently placed into the net with his left foot.

Marwan Attia nearly doubled the lead with a strong shot from the edge of the penalty area, following a corner kick. However, the goalkeeper made a crucial save, and the ball hit the crossbar, bouncing away.

The first half concluded with Egypt leading 1-0.

At the start of the second half, Vitoria brought in Hamdi Fathi and Mohamed Hamdi, replacing Marwan Attia and Ahmed Fattouh.

In the 60th minute, Ahmed Saeed “Zizo” and Omar Marmoush joined the action, substituting Trezeguet and Imam Ashour.

Omar Kamal missed an opportunity to score the second goal in the 70th minute after a splendid pass from Mohamed Salah put him face to face with the goal, but his shot went over the crossbar.

Omar Marmoush penetrated the penalty area and was fouled, earning Egypt a penalty in the 71st minute.

Mohamed Salah stepped up to take the penalty, hitting the crossbar, and the ball rebounded off the goalkeeper’s back into the net.

Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet” and Ahmed Hamdy joined the fray in the 76th minute, replacing Mostafa Mohamed and Omar Kamal.

Omar Kamal left the field due to a muscle injury, and Ali Gabr substituted for him.

Zizo came close to scoring the third goal for Egypt after being set up by Salah, but he struck a powerful shot that was well-saved by the goalkeeper.

Mohamed Salah delivered a cross that reached Mahmoud Kahraba, who headed the ball, but it went wide of the target.

The match concluded with Egypt securing a 2-0 victory.

Egypt will kick off their Africa Cup of Nations campaign against Mozambique next Sunday at 7:00 PM.
