Egypt FA sets 40,000 spectator limit for 2027 AFCON qualifier against Angola

The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has confirmed that a maximum of 40,000 spectators will be permitted to attend Egypt’s opening 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola.

The Pharaohs are set to begin their qualifying campaign on September 25 when they welcome the Palancas Negras to Cairo Stadium, with the approved attendance expected to create a vibrant atmosphere for the highly anticipated encounter.

According to the FA, Egyptian authorities have set the number of fans allowed to attend the fixture at 40,000, meaning that no more than that figure will be permitted to enter Cairo Stadium for the clash.

The decision will allow a significant number of Egyptian supporters to be present as the national team begins its journey towards securing a place at the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

Egypt will be looking to make full use of their home advantage against Angola, with the support from the stands expected to provide an additional boost to the Pharaohs.

The Palancas Negras, however, will be determined to silence the home crowd and leave Cairo with a positive result as they also begin their qualifying campaign.

With 40,000 supporters permitted inside Cairo Stadium, Egypt’s opening qualifier is expected to be played in front of an electric atmosphere as both nations battle for an important result in the race for qualification.

The Pharaohs will now turn their attention to preparing for the September 25 encounter, knowing that they will have substantial home support behind them when they face Angola.
