Egypt Cup: Ismaily suffer shock exit against El Rabaat & Al Anwar

Ismaily were eliminated from the Egypt Cup in the third preliminary round after a 1-0 defeat by El Rabaat & Al Anwar.

Ahmed Hamdeen scored the only goal of the match to send El Rabaat & Al Anwar through at Ismaily’s expense.

Ismaily are currently competing in the Egyptian Professional Division after being relegated from the top flight at the end of last season. They have taken two points from their opening five league matches and sit second from bottom in the table.

Ahmed Abdel Monem “Keshary” is in charge of the club, having been appointed following the departure of Ashraf Khedr.

Haras El Hodoud also suffered an Egypt Cup exit, losing 1-0 to Samanoud.

Bur Fouad recorded the biggest win of the round, beating Bani Ebeid 4-0.

Tanta progressed after a 5-4 victory on penalties over Sporting, following a draw in normal time.
