The Egyptian Football Association has confirmed that the draw for the Egypt Cup will take place at 13:00 on Thursday at its headquarters in 6 October City.
The draw will cover every stage from the round of 32 through to the final, with Wael Riyad, coach of the Egypt youth national team, conducting the ceremony.
Pyramids are the holders of the most recent edition of the Egypt Cup.
The round of 32 is scheduled for the first week of November, alongside the second round of the Egypt League Cup. The season calendar had originally set 30 October as the deadline for completing the eighth round of the league, with the Egyptian Super Cup due to be played between 1 and 8 November.
According to FilGoal.com, the United Arab Emirates Football Association apologised several months ago for being unable to host the Egyptian Super Cup. However, that decision is not final and the UAE remains under consideration as a possible venue.
The Egyptian Football Association has decided to stage the Egypt Cup round-of-32 matches during the same period. It is also coordinating with the Clubs Association over the second round of the Egypt League Cup, which is expected to take place during the first eight days of November because of the difficulty in arranging the Egyptian Super Cup.
The association is not considering abandoning the current format, which allows four teams to compete for the Egyptian Super Cup. It is also not planning to return to the previous system, in which the competition was contested only between the league and Egypt Cup winners.
The Egyptian Super Cup has been held only in Egypt and the UAE since it was introduced in the 2001-02 season. The UAE has hosted nine previous editions, including the last five in succession.
The last three tournaments have featured four teams: the league champions, Egypt Cup winners, Egypt League Cup winners and a fourth side selected through the golden ticket.
For the 2026 edition, Zamalek will take part as league champions, Pyramids as Egypt Cup holders and Al Masry as Egypt League Cup winners. No fourth team has yet been invited through the golden ticket.
Al Ahly are the holders of the most recent Egyptian Super Cup, which was played in the UAE. They defeated Zamalek 2-0 in the final in Abu Dhabi, while Ceramica Cleopatra finished third and Pyramids fourth.
The victory gave Al Ahly their 16th Egyptian Super Cup title, with eight of those triumphs coming against Zamalek. It was also their fifth consecutive success in the competition and their third straight title since the event adopted its four-team format.
