Egypt continued their daily training programme on Sunday as they prepare for the upcoming international break, with the squad’s locally based players taking part.
The session began with physical warm-ups before the coaching staff put the players through a series of tactical exercises. It concluded with a practice match between the squad members.
Mostafa Shobeir, El Mahdy Soliman, Mohamed Alaa, Abdel Aziz El Balouty, Mohamed Hany, Ahmed Fattouh, Marwan Attia, Ahmed Sayed “Zizo”, Emam Ashour, Ali Mahmoud, Mostafa Abdel Raouf “Ziko”, Mahmoud Saber, Karim Hafez, Mohand Lasheen and Tarek Alaa were involved.
All of the domestic-based players have now joined the training sessions, while the nine players based abroad are still to report to camp.
The Egypt squad will train again at 21:00 local time on Sunday at the National Teams Centre in Sixth of October City.
The nine overseas-based players are expected to join the camp over 21 and 22 September, according to FilGoal.com.
Egypt’s upcoming fixtures
Egypt will face Angola and South Sudan in Africa Cup of Nations qualifying before playing South Africa in a friendly.
Their match against Angola will take place on Friday, 25 September at Cairo Stadium. Egypt will then travel to face South Sudan on 29 September, with kick-off scheduled for 15:00 Cairo time.
A friendly against South Africa is scheduled for 4 October.
The 2027 Africa Cup of Nations will be hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda from 19 June to 17 July 2027.
