Egypt coach Hossam Hassan is considering handing first-time call-ups to several young players ahead of the country’s upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Malawi.

A source close to the national team says a number of emerging talents are being considered for inclusion in the squad for the November international window.

According to Lila Kora, Al-Ahly duo Omar Al-Sa’i and Tawfiq Mohamed are among the players under consideration, alongside Zamalek youngster Mohamed Hamad, who has impressed with his recent performances.

Hamad, who was born in 2008, is reportedly attracting attention from the national team’s technical staff following his displays with the generation that featured at the most recent Under-17 World Cup.

Modern Sport forward Mahmoud Mamdouh is another player being considered for a place in the squad. He is currently the leading scorer in the Egyptian Premier League.

Egypt are scheduled to face Malawi on 13 November before travelling for the return fixture on 17 November as they continue their campaign to qualify for the 2027 AFCON, which will be hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

The Pharaohs currently share the top spot in Group B with Angola, with both sides having collected four points from their opening two matches.
