Spanish giants, Barcelona are closing in on a move for Egypt and Al Ahly attacker Hamza Abdel Karim in the current transfer window.
The young Egyptian attacker has long been linked with a Barcelona reserve team, as they seeks to strengthen their squad amid injury setbacks.
The Barcelona junior team ‘La Masia’ view Karim as a suitable signing, given the numerous injuries that have plagued the attack of Juliano Belletti’s Barcelona B team.
According to reports, the Spanish football powerhouse are close to finalizing the signing of the youngster in the winter transfer window.
Meanwhile, the forward and Al-Ahly club had agreed to extend his contract for another season before signing with Barcelona.
He will, however, join Barcelona on loan without a purchase option contract in the contract, but the performance-related goals that will activate the purchase process are achievable, which means that they can be counted within the salary item.
Barcelona face no challenge in registering the Egyptian for the second half of the campaign, with Mbaye Fall is close to leaving the club’s youth team.
Mbaye’s departure will provide the necessary funds to avoid violating the Financial Fair Play clause. The Spanish giants are expected to announce the signing of the Egyptian forward in the last week of January 2026.
