Edgar Pacheco: Portugal-Angola winger joins Atletico CP on free transfer from Differdange 03

Portugal-Angola winger Edgar Pacheco has joined Atletico CP on a free transfer from Luxembourg side Differdange 03. The 26-year-old left winger has signed a deal with the Lisbon club running until 30 June 2027.

Pacheco returns to Portuguese football after a successful spell abroad, where he lifted the Luxembourg Cup with Differdange in the 2025-26 season. He had moved to the club in July 2025 after a brief period without a team, and now becomes one of Atletico CP’s standout attacking additions ahead of the new Liga 3 campaign.

Born in Seixal in June 2000, Pacheco came through the youth ranks at Real SC and Belenenses before stepping up to senior football with B SAD and then moving to Bulgarian side Cherno More Varna. During his time in Bulgaria he finished as league runner-up in 2024, adding further European experience to his CV.

Primarily deployed as a left winger but right-footed, the 1.76m wide player brings versatility and experience of European competition qualifiers and domestic cup campaigns, having featured in squads involved in UEFA Conference League qualifying and league cup matches.

Pacheco’s arrival continues a notable journey that has taken him from Portuguese youth football to Bulgaria and Luxembourg and now back to Lisbon, with Atletico CP securing the winger on a free transfer from Differdange 03.
