Eden Ouédraogo delighted after Burkina Faso call-up: “It’s a Dream Come True”
Eden Soulier Ouédraogo has fulfilled a lifelong dream after earning her first call-up to the Burkina Faso women’s national team.
The Saint Laurent player, who also qualifies to represent France, has chosen to wear the colours of the Stallions ahead of their crucial 2026 AFCON qualifying matches against Togo.
Burkina Faso will face Togo twice in the final qualifying round, with the first leg scheduled for Friday, 24 October 2025.
Speaking after a pre-match training session on Wednesday, 22 October, the left-back shared her excitement and emotions about joining the national setup for the first time.
“The group is doing very well,” Ouédraogo said. “Technically, the level is really good. There’s strong collective quality and great understanding between us.
The atmosphere is positive, supportive, and everyone motivates one another to improve. I truly believe we have all the tools to progress together.”
The defender expressed deep satisfaction with how easily she has settled into the team. “My integration went wonderfully,” she added. “From the moment I arrived, I received a warm and kind welcome. I had no difficulty adapting.”
