‘Ebs won’t play for us again’ – Crystal Palace boss confirms English-Nigerian Eberechi Eze’s move to Arsenal
Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has confirmed that Eberechi Eze has played his final game for the club, with the forward set to seal a move to Arsenal.
The Palace boss spoke immediately after his side’s 1-0 victory over Fredrikstad in the UEFA Conference League, drawing a firm line under the player’s time at Selhurst Park.
Eze, who was born in England but has Nigerian heritage, has been one of Palace’s most influential players in recent years.
His flair, creativity, and ability to change games in an instant made him a key figure for the Eagles, and his departure marks a major shift for the squad.
Glasner, however, did not dwell on the exit, making it clear that Palace must now look forward. “Ebs won’t play for us again,” he told reporters. “It doesn’t make sense to talk about him. We wish him all the best for his new club.”
The 27-year-old was left out of the squad for Thursday night’s European fixture as he finalises his move across London.
Reports indicate that the player is set to undergo his medical at Arsenal in the coming days, with the Gunners eager to add more attacking quality to Mikel Arteta’s side.
While Palace fans will be disappointed to see one of their stars depart, Glasner’s comments suggest there is little room for sentiment as the transfer window nears its conclusion.
The manager now faces the challenge of reshaping his attack in the absence of one of his most dynamic performers.
Eze’s impending switch to the Emirates is expected to be announced shortly, bringing to an end his four-year spell with Crystal Palace.
