Eberechi Eze savours stunning Leverkusen goal and Champions League moment
Eberechi Eze admitted he was still buzzing after his spectacular half-volley against Bayer Leverkusen helped Arsenal seal a 2-0 win and a 3-1 aggregate victory in the Champions League last-16 at the Emirates.
The playmaker broke the deadlock in the 36th minute with a moment of sheer individual brilliance, spinning away from his marker 20 yards out before hammering an unstoppable strike into the top corner past Janis Blaswich.
Speaking afterwards, Eze confessed the goal felt almost unreal. “I don’t know if I could have dreamed to score a goal like that!” he said, still smiling as he reflected on the strike.
“It’s a special goal and I will remember it for a long time. Hopefully it’s the first of many in the Champions League! I am going to watch it back many times.”
For Arsenal, the goal not only lit up a big European night but also underlined how quickly Eze has adapted to the stage, giving supporters real excitement about what he can produce in the knockout rounds still to come.
