Thai powerhouse Buriram United has bolstered its attacking arsenal with the addition of Italian-Ghanaian striker Martin Boakye.
The 29-year-old forward, who turns 30 soon, arrives from Qingdao Hainiu, a Chinese Super League side, bringing a wealth of experience and a proven scoring pedigree to the team.
Born in Valdagno, Italy, Boakye began his career at UCD Solisinese before earning a professional contract with Austria’s FC Kitzbühel in the 2015/16 season. Over three seasons, he tallied 33 goals and 3 assists in 74 matches, earning a loan spell with VFB Hohenems, where he contributed 8 goals in 29 games.
Boakye’s career trajectory includes stints in Luxembourg’s top league with Jeunesse Esch, Croatia’s Slaven Belupo, and Uzbekistan’s FC Andijan and FC OKMK Almaric. His most notable achievements came with OKMK Almaric, scoring 32 goals in 85 matches, including appearances in the AFC Champions League 2023/24.
