Dutch international of Ghanaian descent Jeremie Frimpong has signed a staggering £20 million deal with the sportswear giant, New Balance.
Frimpong, who plies his trade for Bayer Leverkusen now becomes the new face of New Balance European division.
The agreement will be closely tied to Frimpong’s charitable organization, Pathways, which focuses on supporting footballers who have been unable to achieve success at the highest level.
Frimpong, a product of Manchester City’s academy, previously played for Scottish side Celtic before joining Leverkusen in 2021.
Last season, he played a key role in Leverkusen’s surprising triumph, lifting the Bundesliga’s Silver Salver.
The Dutchman is expected to be on the move again this summer, with England emerging as the most likely destination. Liverpool and Manchester United are among the clubs showing strong interest in securing his services.
This season, Frimpong has featured in 29 matches across all competitions for Leverkusen, scoring two goals and providing nine assists.
