Godfried Frimpong played a key role in Moreirense’s 2-2 draw against Estoril in the Liga Portugal on December 28, with the Dutch-Ghanaian defender providing an assist in the second half.
The match at Estádio António Coimbra da Mota saw an exciting first half, with Estoril taking the lead through Alejandro Marqués’ penalty in the 22nd minute before Gabrielzinho’s early strike in the 2nd minute leveled the score for Moreirense. Estoril regained the advantage just before the break, with Hélder Costa’s brilliant finish in the 45+3 minute putting them ahead 2-1.
Frimpong, who started and played the full 90 minutes at left-back, continued his strong performance in the second half. In the 57th minute, he assisted Luís Asué’s clinical left-footed shot, equalizing for Moreirense to make it 2-2. Despite late pressure from Estoril, the match ended with both teams sharing the spoils.
Frimpong’s assist marked his second of the season, maintaining his solid form in Liga Portugal. Moreirense will look to build on this result when they face AVS Futebol SAD on January 4th.
