Dutch international of Ghanaian descent, Memphis Depay has revealed plans to organize a friendly game between his club, Corinthians and Asante Kotoko.
Depay is currently in Ghana for the Christmas holidays and is expected to embark on a lot of activities including charity work.
The former Manchester United and Barcelona star was on Thursday morning present at Kotoko training grounds as the team prepare for the Bibiani Goldstars match in the Ghana Premier League.
Addressing the team at the Adako Jachie training grounds, Depay disclosed plans to organize a friendly between Kotoko and the Brazilian outfit.
“I like what I see and I will urge you to keep going. Never give up. I respect all of you guys. I’m trying to raise something for the team to maybe play a friendly game against my team (Corinthians) in Brazil. It’s in the plans so let hope we can make it happen so that you guys can showcase your talent” he said.
Asante will play host to Bibiani Goldstars in matchday 15 of the domestic top-flight at the Baba Yara Stadium on Friday.
Asante Kotoko are currently 5th on the Ghana Premier League standings with 24 points after 134 matches while Goldstars sit 2nd with 27 points.
