Dusan Vlahovic open to Besiktas move after top-five league offers fail to materialise

Dusan Vlahovic is reportedly prepared to consider an offer from Besiktas after failing to receive the proposals he had hoped for from Europe’s leading clubs.

According to Sky, the Serbia striker is now open to listening to the Turkish club’s offer during the current transfer window. Vlahovic has been without a club since the end of June, when his contract with Juventus expired.

There had been expectations that the 26-year-old would attract interest from prominent sides, including Milan, Napoli, Arsenal, Manchester United and Barcelona. However, no move from those clubs has materialised, leaving Vlahovic reconsidering his options.

The report says Vlahovic has begun to recognise the difficulty of securing a major offer from one of Europe’s top five leagues. As a result, a transfer to Besiktas has emerged as a possibility while he assesses the proposals available to him.

A return to Juventus had also been considered. The Italian club could have offered him an annual salary of less than 12m euros, but Juventus have turned towards other attacking options, effectively closing the door on a possible reunion.

Several sources say Besiktas have offered Vlahovic an annual salary of up to 10m euros. The proposal would also include a substantial signing-on bonus and a commission for his agent.

The Turkish club have set a deadline of the end of next week to resolve the striker’s position. Besiktas are continuing their efforts to persuade Vlahovic to complete the move.

One of the club’s main arguments is the presence of manager Vincenzo Italiano. Italiano previously worked with Vlahovic at Fiorentina, where the striker enjoyed one of the best periods of his career.

Vlahovic developed into a prominent forward during his time at Fiorentina before joining Juventus. His previous relationship with Italiano is now being used by Besiktas as they attempt to convince him that a move to Turkey is the right next step.

The striker’s situation follows a prolonged period of uncertainty after his departure from Juventus. Although interest from a number of high-profile clubs had been anticipated, the lack of concrete offers from those teams has altered the picture.

Besiktas are therefore attempting to take advantage of the situation by presenting Vlahovic with a lucrative package and a manager who knows him well. The player is expected to make a decision by the deadline set by the Turkish side, with negotiations continuing during the current transfer window.
