Dundee United sign Ivorian midfielder Abdoulaye Yoro on loan from Basaksehir

Dundee United have strengthened their midfield by signing 19-year-old Ivorian central midfielder Abdoulaye Yoro from Basaksehir on a season-long loan.

Yoro joins the Scottish Premiership club for the 2026-27 campaign, with the agreement running until 30 June 2027. The move takes him from Turkey’s Super Lig to Scotland, where he will continue his career with Dundee United.

The left-footed midfielder becomes part of Dundee United’s squad after spending the previous campaign away from Basaksehir. He joined Dinamo Tbilisi on loan in July 2025 and returned to the Turkish club at the end of June 2026, before completing his move to Scotland on 12 August.

Yoro originally joined Basaksehir from Ivorian club ES Daoukro in January 2025. His transfer to Dundee United is his third club move since leaving his first known club, and marks his second loan spell away from Basaksehir.

Standing 1.75 metres tall, Yoro is listed as a central midfielder and has represented Cote d’Ivoire as his sole nationality. He is the latest stage of a career that has so far taken him from domestic football in Ivory Coast to clubs in Turkey, Georgia and Scotland.

Dundee United’s new arrival has been included in the club’s squad during the 2026-27 UEFA Conference League qualifying campaign, although he has not yet made an appearance in the competition. The club’s league status places him in Scotland’s Premiership for the season ahead.

Yoro’s Basaksehir contract remains in place beyond the loan, with the midfielder scheduled to return to the Turkish club on 30 June 2027. His move to Dundee United is therefore a temporary transfer rather than a permanent switch.

The 19-year-old now begins his spell at Dundee United after completing a loan transfer from Basaksehir on 12 August 2026.
