Vita Club president rejects resignation claims and issues legal warning

Flory Mapamboli has threatened legal action against anyone using the name of AS Vita Club without authorisation as the leadership dispute at the Congolese giants continues.

The president of the club’s coordinating committee made the announcement while speaking to the press on Saturday, where he also dismissed reports that he was preparing to resign.

Mapamboli was firm about his position, saying: ” Naye pona démissionner te! (I’m not here to resign!) “

His comments come as divisions within Vita Club continue to create uncertainty over the club’s leadership and administration.

Mapamboli also defended the legitimacy of his mandate and rejected attempts by his opponents to challenge his position. He directed a warning at those seeking control of the Kinshasa based club.

“If Makambo wants to take the presidency, let him start by respecting the rules ,” he stated categorically.

The Vita Club president said he would not step aside simply because of the ongoing dispute, insisting that any change in leadership must follow the club’s established process.

” As long as there is no election, we will continue to run the club .”

The dispute has now moved beyond public exchanges, with Mapamboli confirming that his administration plans to begin legal proceedings against people he believes are improperly presenting themselves as representatives of Vita Club.

“Starting this Monday, we are launching legal proceedings against anyone who uses the name Vita Club or signs documents in the name of Vita Club .”

The planned legal action represents a significant escalation in the dispute surrounding the club’s leadership.

Mapamboli’s administration says the measures are intended to protect Vita Club’s name and its administrative structures as the internal crisis continues.

The president’s remarks also make clear that he does not intend to relinquish control in the face of pressure from rival groups within the club.

The leadership dispute has left the Green and Black side facing an increasingly tense institutional situation, with opposing factions continuing to contest authority.

For now, Mapamboli has chosen to respond by defending his mandate, rejecting resignation claims and preparing legal action against those he says are using the club’s name without authorisation.

The next stage of the dispute is expected to depend on how the opposing side responds to the measures announced by the Vita Club leadership.
