AS FAR Rabat, Morocco’s vice-champion, has bolstered its squad by signing two Congolese internationals, Henock Inonga Baka and Joël Beya. This strategic move highlights the club’s ambition for the upcoming season and reinforces the growing appeal of the Moroccan championship for top African talents.

Henock Inonga Baka, a central defender, has officially joined AS FAR Rabat. Baka, who previously played for Simba SC in Tanzania, brings a wealth of experience and reliability to the Moroccan side.

His contract with Simba SC was terminated in June, paving the way for this new chapter in his career.

Baka was also courted by FC Metz in France’s Ligue 2, but he chose to remain on African soil, underscoring the attractiveness of the continent’s football leagues.

With 21 international caps and a prominent role in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) national team, especially during the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Baka is expected to be a key figure in AS FAR Rabat’s defensive line.

His presence will be crucial as the club prepares for the first round of the CAF Champions League against Nigeria’s Remo Stars on August 16 and 23.

Simultaneously, AS FAR Rabat has secured the services of Joël Beya, another Congolese international. Beya, who has one cap for the DRC national team, is looking to make a significant impact at his new club.

The 24-year-old striker has had a challenging journey, often being a substitute since his debut with TP Mazembe in 2019. However, he has shown flashes of brilliance, notably scoring four goals in five appearances for the DRC A’ national team.

Beya’s move to AS FAR Rabat offers him a fresh start and a chance to establish himself in a less competitive environment compared to his previous teams.

His potential for growth and development makes him a promising addition to the club’s attacking options.

The signings of Baka and Beya by AS FAR Rabat reflect a broader trend of African leagues attracting top talents from across the continent.

These acquisitions are not only strategic but also indicative of the Moroccan championship’s growing prestige and competitiveness.

Baka’s decision to join AS FAR Rabat, despite interest from European clubs, highlights the increasing allure of African football leagues.

His experience and leadership will be invaluable for AS FAR Rabat, particularly in their CAF Champions League campaign.

On the other hand, Beya’s arrival adds depth and potential to the club’s forward line, giving him a platform to prove his worth and develop his skills further.

As AS FAR Rabat prepares for the upcoming season, the integration of Baka and Beya into the team will be closely watched.

Their performances could play a pivotal role in the club’s domestic and continental ambitions.

The signings also serve as a testament to the club’s strategic planning and commitment to enhancing their squad with experienced and promising talents.

In conclusion, AS FAR Rabat’s recruitment of Henock Inonga Baka and Joël Beya marks a significant step in their quest for success in both the Moroccan league and the CAF Champions League.

These moves underscore the club’s ambition and the growing appeal of African football for top players across the continent.
